About Michael Rudzik
Michael Rudzik is a business professional with more than 30 years of experience in finance. Over the course of his career, Michael has grown and learned an extensive amount about the business finance industry while developing a wide skill set. Michael has lived and worked in various regions around the globe, which has contributed to his diverse professional background and perspective. In addition to business and finance, Michael Rudzik is also passionate about traveling and learning about different cultures.
Michael Rudzik’s Education and Early Career
At the start of his career, Michael Rudzik attended university to complete his undergraduate degree. In 1986, he graduated, with distinction, with a bachelor of arts degree from the University of Michigan. Michael then went on to attend graduate school at the Thunderbird School of Global Management at Arizona State University. He completed a Master of Business Administration in Finance in 1987. After earning his MBA, Michael began his career in finance by working for Morgan Stanley. This role gave Michael opportunity to be based in New York City, and also live and work in Hong Kong for two years. While in Hong Kong, he successfully completed the Management Training program at Morgan Stanley Asia’s equity division. Living in Hong Kong for those two years also helped Michael learn about and appreciate the local culture and language.
After completing the Management Training program, Michael returned to the States to continue furthering his career in finance. Over the next two years, Michael took on roles at various companies in New York and Kentucky. He then worked as a General Partner at the Tiedemann Investment Group for six years. While at Tiedemann, Michael focused his skills on managing hedge funds when he served as head of the trading desk for a $700 million long/short equity hedge fund and in a portfolio management capacity.
Michael quickly demonstrated his skills in finance, including portfolio management and leadership, which led to him becoming the Chief Operating Officer of Aeon Capital Management. As the COO, Michael collaborated on the formation of a $50 million global long and short equity fund that focused on emerging markets for a large global bank. He then went on to become a Founding Partner of Frontier Endeavors LLC in Lexington, Kentucky. While at Frontier, Michael was the Investment Advisor to company, supported by a large industry group, seeking to build five coal-fired power plants. The company wanted to open these plants in three states and Michael was responsible for acting as a liaison between the company and investment banks to raise capital.
In 2000, Michael Rudzik then became the Portfolio Manager for AEGON USA Investment Management in Kentucky. In this role, Michael was responsible for hedge fund management and the selection and monitoring of a $250 billion global insurance company that had portfolios exceeding $1.5 billion. While at AEGON, Michael was responsible for the insurance company’s fundamental equity strategies including long/short equity, event-driven equity, multi-strategy arbitrage, and private equity.
Michael Rudzik’s Latest Roles
In 2004, Michael Rudzik began working at his current company, PAAMCO Prisma, back in New York City. Since starting at the firm, Michael has held multiple positions and currently works as a Managing Director in Portfolio Management, with responsibilities that include the selection and monitoring of fundamental equity strategies. While portfolio management is Michael’s primary focus today, during his tenure, Michael has managed a team of eight people. Michael has used his insights and expertise to advise company strategy and expand successful investments.
Outside of work, Michael is currently studying Arabic and taking courses in Turning Points in Middle Eastern History and the United States and the Middle East. He enjoys learning about other cultures, history, and languages.
